London Office

Shipping Team

UK qualified solicitor - Shipping department. The role will ideally suit a 4 to 5 year pqe. The work deals with a range of commercial shipping matters and includes, but is not limited to: advising on disputes arising from Bills of Lading; Charter party and Contract of Affreightment disputes; general shipping issues; issues arising out of cargo claims; liaising with large multinational corporations, who are leaders in the steel industry; and developing working and business relationships with new, and existing clients, with the purpose of increasing the work portfolio of the team and the business of the firm.

If you are UK qualified lawyer with at least 4 years practical experience in the specific area of practice; or have the right to work in the UK and have a high level of motivation and commitment, and a determination to provide an outstanding service to clients please submit your CV and covering letter for our consideration.

Madrid Office

Thomas Cooper is looking to recruit a Spanish lawyer who is UK qualified and looking to return to Spain, or an English lawyer who would like to work in Spain.

The ideal candidate will have a Shipping background or will have trained within a Shipping firm, and will be fluent in Spanish or will be learning Spanish.

The role is varied and deals with a range of matters that is mainly dry shipping focused with an element of insurance and possible commodities work; a basic knowledge of these areas of law are essential.
