Ann is a solicitor in the shipping group of our London office. She has a broad dry shipping practice on both the contentious and non contentious sides. Ann specialises in international arbitration and court litigation relating to matters such as unsafe port claims, shipbuild/ ship repair/conversion disputes, piracy issues and all aspects of charterparty/ bill of lading/ cargo related disputes. Ann also regularly reviews and drafts provisions for shipbuild/ conversion/ hire contracts.
Career
Ann joined Thomas Cooper in November 2009 from Holman Fenwick Willan LLP, where she had worked for the last 11 years. She spent just under three years in their Dubai office, gaining a wealth of Gulf/ Middle East experience, advising on both English and local law issues and building up contacts there. She had rights of audience in the Dubai-based DIFC courts and is a member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators. Ann studied German with Japanese as her first degree before completing her CPE and LPC at The College of Law, Guildford. She also speaks conversational Italian and basic Spanish and Arabic.
