David is a partner in our London office. He specialises in shipping related personal injury claims arising from both off shore and on shore activities. David has a particular expertise in occupational disease claims and claims involving work related conditions, such as upper limb disorder and repetitive strain injuries. He also advises private clients in relation to sporting issues, both contentious and non-contentious, most notably in the field of football. He has particular expertise in dealing with matters arising from the Football Association Agents Regulations, along with issues surrounding breaches of both UEFA and FIFA Regulations generally. David acts for Premier League players and their agents, both with regard to the transfer of players’ registrations and contractual re-negotiations. He also has experience in dealing with disciplinary matters arising from the rules of the Football Association, along with issues involving Image Rights Contracts.
David is a Registered Lawyer with the Football Association and as such additionally operates throughout the FA’s jurisdiction in the capacity of agent, representative and/or advisor to football clubs and/or players.
David joined Thomas Cooper as a trainee in 1996 and became a partner in 2004. He read history and politics at London University, completing the law conversion courses at the College of Law.
