Rachel is a Partner in the London Office of the Marine and Commercial Litigation Group. She has experience in all aspects of commercial litigation and dispute resolution involving contractual issues, insurance disputes and personal injury and fatality claims. She is involved mainly with marine related matters and acts for shipowners and their insurers, P&I Clubs and cruise and ferry operators. Disputes are often multi-jurisdictional and arise from collisions, catastrophic injury, travel and holiday claims, and disease claims.
Rachel has attended inquests and advises clients on criminal investigations and breaches of Health and Safety Regulations. She has been involved with investigations by the MAIB and HSE and defended prosecutions by the MCA resulting in criminal trials.
Rachel has represented clients in several group litigation cases involving alleged multi-passenger illnesses arising on cruise ships.
Rachel qualified as a solicitor in 2004, having joined the firm as a trainee in 2002. She joined the Thomas Cooper partnership in 2015. Rachel read Human Biology at the University of Leeds and completed the LPC and PGDL at the College of Law, York.
