William specialises in litigation and is a solicitor in our Marine Commercial Litigation department.
William acts for a broad range of clients including shipowners, their P&I insurers, Lloyd’s syndicates, claims adjusters and the oil industry. William has particular experience working with insurers in respect of yachts disputes, the cruise industry in respect of passenger claims and advising clients in relation to personal injury claims, investigations by the MCA, MAIB and HSE as well as Coroner’s Inquests. William is often involved in disputes of an international nature as he speaks fluent Spanish and has experience working in the Thomas Cooper Madrid office.
William is also a part of the Employment team and advises clients in respect of employment disputes in the High Court and Employment Tribunals.
William is a member of our Sports Team. He has acted on behalf of football managers, agents and players in respect of various employment and contractual disputes. William has experience in bringing claims in the English Courts as well as through FIFA and the Court of Arbitration for Sport.
William joined Thomas Cooper as a trainee solicitor in 2012 and qualified in September 2014. He spent six months in the Thomas Cooper Madrid office prior to qualification and subsequently enjoyed a four month secondment in the claims department of a P&I Club. William read History and Spanish at the University of Leeds, which included one year at the Universidad de las Americas in Puebla, Mexico. William completed the GDL and LPC at the College of Law, York.
