Charles is a senior partner in our London office.
He specialises in shipping, trade and trade Finance disputes, in particular in relation to bills of lading and charterparties and sale of goods disputes.
He is also a leading figure in relation to contentious trade finance matters.
Career
Charles qualified in 1979 at Thomas Cooper. He practised with other leading City firms before rejoining the Thomas Cooper in 1994. He is a member of the ICC UK Committee on Banking Technique and Practice (the committee dealing with the UCP 600) and a former Chairman of the British Maritime Law Association Committee on Arbitration and ADR. He is a Visiting Professor at City University and lectures regularly for many other educational and commercial institutions.
