Stokes anti-doping appeal: success for Thomas Cooper Sports Team

Alex Brooks of Thomas Cooper’s Sports Team advised Mr Joseph Stokes, a rugby union player, in relation to his appeal against a ban for anti-doping offences. The starting point for the sanction in Mr Stokes’ case was a 4-year ban; however, it was successfully argued before the National Anti-Doping Panel that this should be reduced to a period of 2 years, by reason of the fact that Mr Stokes’ ingestion of the prohibited substance was unintentional. The Panel’s decision can be found here.
