Thomas Cooper Partner Promotion for Dimitris Anassis
Thomas Cooper’s partnership is increased with the promotion of Shipping Disputes specialist, Dimitris Anassis. He is welcomed to the partnership as of 1 June 2017.
The announcement highlights the firm’s commitment to expansion in support of its positioning as one of the recognised leaders in the market.
Dimitris is well known in the shipping industry where his practice focuses on shipping disputes. He advises on arbitration and court proceedings and has advised on numerous significant charterparty, bill of lading, marine insurance and shipbuilding disputes involving contractual breaches and tortious liability. Dimitris has a diverse legal education background of both English and Greek law.
Dimitris joined Thomas Cooper’s Piraeus office in 2014 from Norton Rose Fulbright. He has recently relocated to the firm’s London office but will be dividing his time between the firm’s London and Piraeus offices, which will allow him to continue to service the Greek market and clients with the Piraeus team which is headed by partner Douglas Bateson.
The announcement comes as part of the firm’s continued investment across its core sectors on an international basis, having over recent years announced a few new hires to the partnership, most recently, Nick Donnelly and James Severn. The Thomas Cooper partnership now stands at 29.
Tim Kelleher, Thomas Cooper’s senior partner commented:
“We are delighted to welcome Dimitris to the partnership. As we continue our strategy of expansion in our core sectors, Dimitris’ promotion will further strengthen and complement our existing partnership”.
Thomas Cooper’s international shipping group provides a full range of international services in maritime, insurance, trade and finance law and advises Clubs, Ship Owners, Salvors and Insurers.
