Thomas Cooper’s Sports Team Recognised by Legal 500

Thomas Cooper’s Sports Team has been recognised again as one of the UK’s leading sports law practices. The Sports Team, which is led by James Severn and Nick Humphreys, was praised by independent research company Legal 500 who stated:

“Thomas Cooper LLP has a ‘very good team’ comprising commercial lawyers, regulatory experts and ‘excellent litigators’, all of whom are ‘great to have in your corner’. Football is the group’s core focus. The ‘sensible, commercial, approachable and smart’ James Severn, who made partner in May 2016, jointly heads the practice with employment expert Nick Humphreys, who acted for former assistant manager Nigel Gibbs in a wrongful dismissal case brought against Leeds United FC. Domestic and international football disputes are a key strength of the practice. Humphreys and associate Alex Brooks represented footballer Jordan McMillan and his intermediary in appealing a two-year ban handed down by the National Anti-Doping Panel; the ban was reduced.”
