Clare Hammersley



Clare is a member of the Shipping and International Trade and Commodities Group. Her practice focuses on shipping and trade disputes, such as those arising out of charterparties, bills of lading, sale contracts and letters of credit. Clare has experience working on arbitrations, mediations and English Court proceedings.

Clare advises a range of clients including P&I Clubs, shipowners, charterers, insurers, cargo interests and banks.


Clare joined Thomas Cooper in 2012 as a trainee solicitor and qualified as a solicitor in 2014. She spent six months in our Piraeus office prior to qualification.

Clare holds a First Class Bachelor of Law (Hons)(LLB) degree – College of Law, York (2010-2012).  She also holds a Geography BA (Hons) degree – University of Nottingham (2007 – 2010).
